Can I ride my ATV on town
roads?
Yes, by-laws have been passed that allow ATVs on
local roadways in Mattawa and the surrounding
townships. Single rider only (passengers are
permitted on VMUTS). ATVs are not permitted on
highways (even on the shoulder) and UTV/Side-By-Side/Two-Ups
are not allowed on any roadway.
Can I ride with a
passenger on my ATV?
You can't ride double on any established road but on
VMUTS is is allowable.
Do I need to
bring insurance and ownership papers?
Yes, as this is a Provincial Law you are required to
have insurance and ownership papers with you (if you
are operating a motorized vehicle) so you are able
to produce them at the request of police or game
wardens.
How old do you have to be
to ride on the trails?
You must be 16 years of age or older, or have a
valid snowmobile license (to operate ATVs or
Off-Road Motorcycles on the trail system). If the
under-age person is well supervised it might be
possible to ride on the trails but it is advisable
to check with the police for official rules.
Do I need
to buy a trail pass to attend an ATV rally? No. The cost to attend the rally is all you
need to join us for an event.
Where
can I park my trailer and unload my bikes? During a rally trailers can be parked and
unloaded at the Mike Rodden Arena.
For general trail use there is some room at the
trail head and at access points along Hwy 533 and on
Kearney Lake Road.
